I will dominate 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
